The US Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service has published live plant and cut flower import data for fiscal year 2022, which runs from October to September. During this period, the North American country imported products from 81 countries worth 3.3 billion dollars .
Colombia is the main supplier of flowers and plants to the US (1,200 million dollars, 37% of the total), followed by Canada, Ecuador and the European Union , in fourth place.
By type of product, imports of roses totaled more than 800 million, while other cut flowers, such as chrysanthemums, carnations and lilies, were valued at a total of 1,100 million. Live plant imports were valued at almost $860 million, and imports of other products, such as bulbs and green plant , totaled $492 million.
