Effective Control of Diaspinos (head Lice): APHYTIS Aphytis melinus Aphytis melinus (APHYTIS®) is a small parasitic wasp, yellow in color, which lays eggs of microscopic size, in the body of the diaspinos, under its cover. Parasitizes different types of mealy bugs with a shield, mainly red Louse of California and Louse white lemon.

Parasitizes females and males of the 2nd and 3rd stage, and adult females are not fertilized. The larva eats the body of the cochineal, and then a pupa under the cover of the same.

Can develop up to 2 or 3 Aphytis melinus can be developed by each mealybug parasitized.

The adult female needs protein to produce eggs, and are commonly obtained by feeding on the mealybugs.

Usually occur 2 to 3 generations of
