Sales of Royal FloraHolland fell by 8% in 2022

One of the main commercial brokerage corporations in the world of flowers and ornamental plants, Royal FloraHolland , has recently released its Annual Report for 2022, which reports sales of 5,200 million euros last year , 8% less than in 2021.

The number of products sold also fell by 7%, to a total of 10.8 billion units, partly due to the high energy costs that horticulturists in the Netherlands had to bear.

The average price also decreased, 2% lower than in 2021, and overall Royal FloraHolland's operating profit , after tax, was a loss of €4 million.

Floriday digital platform

Every week, 5,500 producers and buyers from 45 countries use the Floriday digital medium, which has continued to gain share in the number of transactions operated. Throughout the year 2022, an average of 33% of all direct transactions at Royal FloraHolland were made through this online platform, with notable peaks such as week 10, when 56% of operations were channeled through Floriday.
